Usual surgical activity

  • Cataract and crystalline lens surgery with monofocal, toric and multifocal intraocular lens implants.
  • Surgical repair of cataract surgery complications: intraocular lens exchange and iris-claw lens implants.
  • Ocular trauma surgery: cornea, iris, crystalline lens and sclera.
  • Ocular surface surgery, such as: pterygium surgery with autograft, amniotic membrane graft, limbal stem cell transplantation, resection of anterior segment tumours and reconstruction.
  • Cornea surgery: Cornea transplant. Full-thickness cornea transplant (penetrating keratoplasty) or lamellar cornea transplant (deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty and DSAEK).

  • Prize from the Fundació Privada Assaig per a la Recerca Sanitària for the best scientific paper published during 2009 for Prophylactic intracameral cefazolin after cataract surgery: endophthalmitis risk reduction and safety results in a 6-year study.
